Hi, I am new here - I am curious... Is this forum new? I am surprised there are no posts! I have been searching for a peri-menopause board and chat for a while and as it seems to be a bit of a hot topic at the moment I was surprised to find them hard to find... And then when I find one, it's empty!

Hi CurlyPretzel , thank you for your reply! Yes, this is a brand new community thats only just been set up. It's still in the process of being launched so hopefully over the next few months you should see a few more people join and post.

Thanks for being one of the first members! Please feel free to write a post to help us get the conversation flowing :)

Hi all I am nearly 46 and had a hysterectomy 4 yrs ago but left ovaries, I am peri menopausal now with endometriosis and a bladder prolapse 😞. I would like to know if there are any women taking ovestin cream that have endometriosis and does it make it worse due to the extra estrogen? Thanks x

Hi! love the new group, I'm looking forward to reading everyone's experiences and tips for getting us through this part of our life. I've been peri menopausal for about 3 years🥵, and I'm about to start on HRT - Evorel Conti. I'm hoping it's going to make life slightly better 🤞🤞🤞 x

Hi Smithy999,

I started on Evorel Conti/50 back in September and all my symptoms have disappeared. I was having hot sweats every 40 minutes. I don't get any now. No more brain fog either.

Hopefully you will get some relief and your quality of life will be so much better :)

Hello ladies,

At the moment I'm on zoladex, induced menopause. But I have been noticing that I already had the symptoms for a couple of years. I did disregard peri-menopause since I'm I. My mid 30s.

I'm hoping to find other women going through similar things and learn and share how to deal with the discomfort.

Thank you,

☺️

Hello 👋 I’m new here, having found this community through C25K. I am 52 and struggling with many symptoms of the menopause. I have fibroids and have struggled with very heavy, unpredictable and excruciatingly painful periods, so despite the awfulness of the MP I’m pleased that for the last 8 months I’ve stopped having periods. The worst thing I’m dealing with is night sweats and the lack of sleep this is causing; mood wings and low mood. Difficult to determine how much of this is MP, pandemic or grief. I’m not taking any medication as I lost my beautiful Mum recently to secondary breast cancer so I’m scared to take HRT. I asked GP for advice & was told that I’m at the average age for MP so it should be over soon! Basically get on with it. I’m hoping this community will be far more informative and supportive than my GP! It’s lovely to find you all 😊

Hi maisie, sorry for your loss. You've had alot to deal with. That's terrible your doctor was so dismissive. How have you been recently? If you are still suffering I would try and see a different doctor. Ive just had bloods back re being peri menopausal and have a telephone consultation with my doc on Thursday to discuss options.

hello, all! if I'm not in the midst of it, i will be. or something. I'm not new to health unlocked, and i believe I've still got a mostly regular cycle going on, but. but. an ablation about five years ago to clear some fibroids but a dearth of follow up. so many health things, and too many medicines, and not enough info. so, sneaking in there, sweats and aches and hair and sleep, is it peri or is it something else? there's also a thirteen year old fellow in the house. i haven't mentioned that we'll be a right pair of we're both wind up on the same day, but i think i will. gotta learn what sign to flash for 'hormone takeover'. is there an emoji?

so... that's how I'm here.

x cath

Hi Henderson,I am post menopausal,so been the done that sort of speak, brain fog is common,as is aching joints although I didn,t have that particular problem but did have the brain fog in a major way.Once I reached menopause I suffered with all sorts of things related to it,struggled on for a few years then went on HRT,wow, was ,t long before I felt not al once again, sailed through the rest of the menopause and came off HRT roughly 2years ago, have been ok without HRT ,DEFFO RECOMMEND it,if you can take it.

I went to my GP about 6 months ago & have been on HRT since then. I couldn’t believe it but I started to feel like myself again almost overnight.

great news,so pleased your sorted,it,s all about finding the right dose I reckon,my friend had no joy for a long time using HRT,I was fortunate like you got the right dose first time, was on it for approx 13yrs,not sure how old you are, when I turned 60 they wanted me to come off it but,I didn.t want to let go of something that gave me my life back, who would,?anyway, unfortunately I ended up with oestrogen fed breast cancer aged 66 which was 2021,so of course had to stop taking it,fortunately I am now well with ref.to that,it was caught early, hand on heart, how could I regret taking it and don’t,the choice was simple,I felt I had lost myself and became someone else, but HRT gave me years of myself back, fast forward to today and without HRT,well,am over it thankfully, bet my bone density is better than someone who has never taken HRT,LOL,swings and roundabouts sort of speak. My advice to all would be,have your mammogram when called for and, maybe try coming off or lowering your does in years to come. All the best.Take care.

I’m sorry to hear about your breast cancer but I’m glad that you are ok now.

I am 51 & my GP has said I can stay on it as long as I want but can reduce it gradually if I want to come off it as it’s a gel.

I will go to any screening offered to me .

Hello Ladies,I am 49, and have a history of depression, PMS and it has worsened during perimenopause. I am looking for other womens stories and treatments. As we all know, some of us get better care than others and some treatments work better for some of us than others.

Hi, my menopause started when I was around 47 with the most horrendous period that refused to stop until I went to the doctor for meds. Found I had fibroids, unfortunately the location of one of them meant a hysterectomy would resolve it so due to my age i decided to grin and bear it. My periods stopped completely around 3 years later.

Honestly the symptoms are a minefield. Is it menopause or something else.

Turning me into a hypochondriac.

I’d take worrying about getting pregnant back again in a heartbeat. Life was so much simpler. 😬
