Hu Tracy, following my discharge from hospital where I’d spent 4 months with TB meningitis, I was referred to a neuropsychologist for assessment. I continued to see him over the next few years as he supported me through problems I was having after returning to my job as department head at a global finance company.

I would ask your GP to refer you to a similar service as I found it extremely helpful for me personally. Good luck

Hi Tracy, I am sorry to read that you are suffering from lasting effects from meningitis. The right professionals will depend on the problems you are having, as meningitis can produce a wide range of after-effects. If you contact our nurse-led helpline at Meningitis Now, we can provide you with more information: helpline@meningitisnow.org or call 0808 80 10 388 (UK only). Best wishes, Claire
