I had severe headaches for about 10 days with fever between 100-101. My temperature is still 2 degrees above normal. My headaches are tolerable but constantly feel various degrees of pressure. I can cough without holding my head with my arms and hands. I also feel more confused and the words come out of my mouth a bit jumbled. When does the slight fever go away? When does the severe weakness go away! Thanks in advance for your responses!

2 Weeks Into Viral Meningitis
the weakness can be different for everyone I read the other day that someone on here had had it only a couple of weeks ago and she was progressing rapidly...that's usually not the case though, it can up to 12/15 months that's normal for me and for many on here, don't worry about that as that will pass you will notice other things that may not pass like your eye sight might have diminished a little ive had it 4 times full blown and a few mini episodes but a pretty bad one this February, and its taking me a bit to get over it, but be positive and that will be in your best interest, don't push yourself at all only do what you are capable of or u will suffer the rest of the week …. get some auto immune vitamins into you … don't stress that's really important, you may find little things like u cant go outside anymore without wearing sun glasses even shopping centre lights are hard on our eyes , and the lights of cars coming towards you are a bit hard to take as well just makes you a little sensitive to light, it may where off it may not, we are all different, but atleast the worst of it will go the horrific head pain, you may have trouble with your neck and I swear by my tens machine only a cheapie on ebay $55 I love it, some do some don't we all have to see what does good for us, and believe me u will probably try any thing and everything but I would try the vitamins and the tens, and other things u will learn to deal with in your own way, keep reading here as many people have different ideas and seeing we are all in the same boat we all listen … good luck I hope you do well in your recovery, and it wouldn't hurt to read some HEALING books by Becky Dyvorack helped me no end x take care
Thank you so very much for your detailed reply! I will definitely heed your advice and get those vitamins, as well as the books from the author of that you talked about. I will keep in mind that stress plays a huge role in recovery. I have noticed that when I am stressed, I have more of a headache pressure and my temperature is up a bit. It is amazing what stress can do to the body. I hope your recovery goes smoothly. Were all of your spinal meningitis’ viral? Best of luck to you and again I hope you recover quickly from this last bout. x
yes all vm… don't worry not many of us have Molarets (re occurring) its rare
thanks I have more power than I had before over this hideous disease, after the last bout I had just become a born again Christian and I believe in strength from positive thinking and the power from above so I know I will not get this again … be positive … and don't stress … keep your immune system healthy as possible that's what my neurologist told me … so please try your best and stay calm x
My body temperature was normal for two days and now it is about 1-2 degrees above normal. Anyone else have continuing elevated temperature almost 3 weeks after being diagnosed with VM? Thanks!
