For those with Mollaret's (recurrent) meningitis, what have your doctors told you about being contagious during a flare-up?

I have not been feeling well lately. It feels a bit like a milder version of what I had at my worst. (I got sick fourteen months ago.) My doctor wants to start with an MRI, but it's the weekend and I'm wondering: if I am in fact having a flare-up, would I be contagious? I'm particularly interested in hearing from those who have been diagnosed with recurrent meningitis (Mollaret's meningitis).

I had v/m a year ago sept and still have not recovered, I also wonder about being contagious as I feel I have recurring meningitis . Drs. Know little to nothing about it so I get a blank stare at best. I am on the head ache med at my request And the acilivir antiviral in hopes of not going full blown again. But I guess that’s the best I can get for now. I am mostly flat on my back, as i wear out quickly and trips into town put me down for the next day at least and I usually do drs. All in a week get it all over with and recover the rest of the month. I have always been a workaholic and enjoyed my garden and so miss that part of my life. It is difficult for me to water the plants around the deck every other day. They suffer some days when I’m a day late😩

It doesn’t seem anyone has info on whether we r contagious or not with recurring meningitis or not, I feel reluctant kissing folks out there. I have never really recovered in a year and a half. And it concerns me. Working with an intuitive healer now as western medicine doesn’t seem to know or b much help.

You are right about Western medicine not being much help. My doctor said it takes two years to get better. Some on this site say it takes three years.
