Your sensory system is totally overwhelmed, so feeling a bit crazy is normal, I think. You need something to ground you. I recommend lying down and slowly breathing in and out (count to 4 or 5) eight times. This will help to retrain your autonomic nervous system. Here is the recommended build up:

Day 1-3: one set, twice a day

Day 4-6: one set, five times a day

Day 7-9: two sets, five times a day

Days 10-12: three sets, five times a day

Day 13 and on: five sets, five times a day

This is from Dr. Michael Lam. He treats adrenal fatigue syndrome, but it helps for the nervous system in general. (And my adrenals were wiped after having VM.)

Thank You Rowi I am going to start that today and they are sending me for an MRI tomorrow. I was getting better with the feeling of the heart beat then stressed out going back home with all the noise and going on the cell phone makes my heart feel weird I was staying off it before but sometimes I have to go on it. I am dealing with alot of trauma from this illness and other things that have happened while I have been sick I wrory that an MRI will make me sick like the cell phone does or make my dizziness progress. I have a friend writing this right now that is how much it hurts. Some days it just feels really hard to be alive. I have a very hard time talking and that I haven't been eating much the last couple of days because of major stresses. I just wish I could have a day without any symptoms.

You are very welcome. Your symptoms will lessen little by little, especially if you can do things not to stress about them. (I know it's very difficult.) Thirteen months later, I said to my osteopath today, "I never thought I would say that the tinnitus only bothers me on occasion now or that I feel I am getting closer to health, as if it's actually in reach, even if I'm not quite there yet." Try using earphones when you talk on the phone. That was a suggestion from my chiropractor. I would get terrible symptoms after being on the phone, but with the earphones, I can control the volume more, including pulling one of them out entirely or both a little bit--especially when someone puts me on hold and I have to listen to muzak. :)

I’m having hard time driving. I keep passing up my exits... &&& it’s not my nature to do so. I NEVER use to pass my exits (pre-meningitis)... so this is kinda freaking me out.

Yes, feel crazy bc everyone thinks I look normal and should behave normal. Just wondering how much longer are these residual symptoms going to last?

Yep it's horrible

So much glare

And children with high pitches are deafening

Used to be so easygoing

I can't see any alternative though get so frustrated at light

I am eating again

I think doctors upset me with invalidation and do nothing to help

At night the light wakes me

I developed something bordering on ptsd a few months after it all.

I use the "calm" app which has lots of mini courses to help. Have a free month pass, if you want to try it out let me know.

Stimulants like Caffeine make me a lot worse and I've become alcohol intolerant.

Gentle hugs. Things will improve and you will start to cope better. X
