I was hospitalized over a month ago, with diagnosis of bacterial meningitis. During my two weeks in hospital I had two lumbar punctures. Since leaving the hospital I've been experiencing some after effects of bm - headaches, fatigue, light and sound sensitivity, occasional dizziness, you know, all the usual. I've also been having back pains. The doctor at the hospital said that post lumbar puncture back pains are normal and should go away after a few days, but they never went away. I spoke to a different neurologist and she said that those pains can last how weeks... I don't know if it can really be it or should I be worried and try to look more into those pains?
Anyone else experiencing post lumbar puncture back pains?

My back felt like it went on forever. I couldn’t get comfortable at all and it was just adding to everything else going on. Try laying on your side where you can with a pillow behind your back for support.
It might just allow the tender area a bit of a rest to help the internal bruise so down etc.
I don’t remember much pain in my back after my lumbar puncture however they did hit a nerve in my spine which could be the cause of me having severe leg pains ever since. It’s now 14 months down the line and I’m still struggling so keep putting your foot down and ask for more test and ways to cope. I do recommend seeing an osteopath or acupuncturist as I have had help from both of these.
