I am 9 months post vm. Night before last I had my husband up all night because I was totally out of it. I woke up and said take me to hospital. They did blood work up and even spinal tap. It said I didn’t have vm and go home and rest. Since I had the same symptoms as before, did it just not gone to brain? I don’t understand same symptoms but not Vn?

Arlene’s
ask them about Acute Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis.
I have it. Need MRI very rare. They don't know much about it. Head and neck pressure due to clots in the brain area veins.
When I had VM, I had a CT scan when I went to the ER and they originally told me I had a Venous Sinus Thrombosis. Turns out the CT scan was in error (a refraction of some sort) and a subsequent MRI showed no signs of any clot. Neurologist told me it sounded like a migraine since it responded to Imitrex. I ended up with VM-like symptoms afterward and was told my a neurologist it was likely VM. If a spinal tap ruled out VM, the OP might want to get an MRI just to be safe (but we don't know all your symptoms, so it's best to talk to a doctor!)
Hi Arlene -
I’ve had VM twice and it’s been 3 years since last episode and I get the symptoms of the disease still at random times. Stiff neck, dizziness nausea, headache, black fog etc. I believe it’s been when I’ve been exposed to a virus and that is my body’s way of fighting it. Sometimes I even get a low grade fever. Trust me there r some days I question whether I need to go to hospital but so far I’ve just rested taken pain meds and it eventually goes away. If I run a high fever with all those symptoms I may go in. I think though that you will experience VM symptoms off and on now though and unfortunately that’s part of the recovery which doctors don’t warn u about.
In 2002 when it got me there was about a 6 month period when I felt fine, but the headaches came and became a permanent 24 hour a day migraine. At one point I just wanted to end my life but I found a great pain specialist and he put me on a morphine program. Now I have learned how to control the pain without being "High" I tell you this because meningitis can cause all kinds of post meningitis events. Just make sure you communicate any and all episodes to your Doctor. My HE Bless You and Yours. Shalom
