Hi, it has taken me 3 years to recover from all the after effects of viral meningitis. Prior to meningitis I had an accident which affected my jaw and the meningitis aggravate . Treatment from a chiropractor and physio helped to realign my jaw .

Recovery from VM can be slow but possible. I climbed a mountain last week so patience is the main requirement

I got VM last july . It is a horrible ordeal to begin with but Was not prepared for the after affects of this horrible disease . I could write here forever with so much but I suggest if you have facebook, to please join "meningitis survivors and supporters" and also "mollerets meningitis group" . You will find many answers amd support with what everyone around the world is dealing with. Unfortunately when diagnosed and released from the hospital, because of its rarity, doctors in the medical profession and never have the correct information I do not take this seriously . The groups on Facebook are amazing and you will learn a lot . I am going on a year since having viral meningitis and still deal with returning episodes . It has affected my hearing, I site, overall function and much more . Best of luck and hope to see you in the groups .
