I m from very small town in india name jodhpur. My brother in law is suffering from maningitis. It have been a long time now since april 2016. First of all when he was in initial stage no doctor could diagnose his deccease then on the day 9 April he became unconscious. We did all we could, bring him to best medical facilities in town then we found out he suffering from meningitis M. Doctors keep saying us it will take time to recovery but how much it can't be predict. We keep taking care of him, healthy diet, proper medications, physiotherapy seasons but still after all these month he just open eyes and close them again, not much improvements we could see. I don't know what should i do now? He have 2 little daughters and a wife who are totally depend on her and not have any other income source. We too have very limited amout of money but we can do anything for him. So i requests you to guide us, Advice us, so we could bring him back. Is there any way? Or he is gonna be this same his whole life? Is there any way to make him on his feet again?

I m really sorry if i become very personalized with my problem but we badly need some usuful advices. We will be very greatfull to you.

Thank you.

We are giving him akt tablet contains [ethambutol, rifampicine, isonizide] and levera and ecosprin 75...... And in syrup we giving him polybion vitamin b12 complex...nothing else

Doctors are saying that "it is unpredictable to say...he is 36 year old... He can recover but how much time we can't particular guess"

First they guess 3 month...then they said 6 month...now they saying a year... I don't even know if they r just guessing things not so sure... Doctors here not to much open up with patients..

I'm so confuse.... who can give me answer by seeing MRI and CT scan reports??

He open his eyes and close them again sometime he shake his head to answer somethinh but its rarely. We obatin that hishis understating good sometime but he have not any control body.

Thank you so much for asking.... I wish so many good things for youyou.

Hi Dilip, sorry for that, I had VM in july 2012, 2 weeks in coma after that to rehab, i was in wheelchair, I thought I would die, 4 years 3 minths later i feel better, no 100% but better, i was reading some people the recovery is faster then others, your brother in law needs support, i know how he is feeling himself right now, jist patience, i was earing garlic everyday, to sleep,i was taking trazedo 100% mg( dont take it it is worse) psyquiatric gave me many pills i nust take two days because i was feeling worst, so my mother was cooking for me, vegeatbles , fruit, salmon, omega3, yogurt probiotic greek, flax seed, quinoa, last time i saw the neurologis she told me i dont know what you are doing but whatever you are doing keep doing it, good luck.

@menin.... Thank you so much for your precious suggestion and to looking forward to my problem...

I'm sorry about whatever you have to face but I'm really feeling courageous now, my fighting spirit increases with the help of your motivation.

I will keep patiences but i just worried a bit, what if situation get worst because we taking care of him at home not in hospital? Should i go to most famous hospital of country to get advanced treatment or trust on current medications??

If this was my relative or loved one, and he had been this way for some time, (since April) with little to no signs of improvement, and if you are not seeing a doctor on a regular basis, like once every week or once every two weeks to evaluate him, then, yes, I would take him to a hospital where more advanced treatments might be found. I say this because, from what I have learned, the first two years after diagnosis is the most critical time for getting back what has been lost. The damage done to the brain has the best chance of reversal and healing during those first two years. Seek help now, when there is still a chance for recovery. This is my opinion.

Don't stop fighting. Continue to search for answers to help your brother-in-law. Best of luck that he improves. He is fortunate to have you caring for him.
