Migraines linked to B meningitis?

when I was 5 I had bacterial meningitis and ever since I have suffered from bad headaches and migraines I am now 16 and they are getting worse. I have also been passing out recently. I was wondering if they could be linked to the illness in anyway? Does meningitis have after effects?

It took me 20 years to find out that yes there is a direct connection between meningitis and migraines.

I have a post on here somewhere about my experience that might be worth a read, failing that there are many posts on here detailing both the short term and long term after effects.

I was hospitalised back in 1980 and still have the migraines plus a few other things that may be related to it, but due to a bad accident in 1990, I no longer know what problem is associated with each event.

Def yes, though I'm not sure you will here that from your physician. I'm post VM 3 yrs, & continue to manage ongoing meningitis symptoms, headaches being one of them. Healthy diet , rest , exercise help!

Yes, after Meningitis I had intense migraines for many years and 45 years on they still come from nowhere. I still get dizziness and blurred vision with mine. It can lead to severe zig zags in your eyes, the only thing I do is have some R&R and strong pain killers.

Yes there is a link to migraines. Always worth getting checked out in case of any other health problems it may be related to. I have other various side effects but learn to live with them and compensate. I hope your migraines gradually become less intense and go .
