She is in extreme pain. I can't help her. She is not going to make it.

She became the meaning of my life.

Now my life will be pointless once again.

Thanks for nothing.

Please use prayer. For ur gfriend, her doctors for their wisdom and for yourself to have couage and strength. I am praying for u both. You can do this. Ask ur friends and family for prayer. Never be afraid to seek help from your higher power. You will find some peace. Keep us posted. Have faith. I know its fearful.

Antony,

How do you know she is not going to make it. Every meningitis patient, whether viral or bacterial, experiences large amounts of pain unfortunately. Pain is not a predictor of recovery from meningitis. I cannot give you any more advice as I do not understand the situation with such limited information. There are a lot of people on here who can be a good support for you but of course it's entirely up to you if you wish to share more information.x

Hey, thanks for the reply.

I am really sorry about this post. I really lost it yesterday. She told me she couldn't bare the pain and it almost killed me. She is still in a lot of pain, but it's slightly better.

My baby is in pain and I can do nothing about it.

I have never felt so useless.

I have shared more information on the post below this one.

Thanks for your interest.

Hi xx the pain is awful,so so awful.... All you can do is speak quietly, help keep a calming, dim lit room, and be there for her to rant to .... It's a scary illness,I remember all I wanted was my own bed, maybe bring a blanket from home to help keep calm ,take each day as it comes she will improve slowly each day xx slow steps to recovery xxxx avoid distress if possible keep well medicated to ease the pain xxxx

Hey, thank you for your post,

She's in extreme pain, she wants to give up, I'm trying to be reassuring but it's really difficult to know she's hurting. I don't know what else to do. I'm just hoping she'll be better soon. The pain is getting worse every day, I'm not seeing signs of improvement. I can't take it anymore.

Speak to the doctors see what they are saying, maybe increase pain meds, cuddle and comfort are the most important things you can do,for the patient it's the darkest days of your life, the pain so I these the feeling of being alone,it's awful it really is,but having someone close and comforting really helps xx trust me ... Xx try not to worry too much she is in the right place and your doing all you physically can do xxxx you won't see much signs of improve, net as its little steps xx the smallest of things , xxx speak to one if the meningitis team they are brilliant xxx

I hope your both ok , xx it has a massive impact on families as well as the patients xx

we made it, so she is going to make it, don't give up, give her strong talking to her ears softly, you see she is going to make it.

Antony, after a severe bout with meningitis I have had 24 hour a day headaches. For the last 10 years I have been on morphine. Without that relief I would not want to live. Find a pain specialist it will change both your lives. Pain meds are there for this type of situation. Good luck. Shalom
