Hi

My son is 21yrs old

He’s went into residential whe he was 18yr old

He was getting CHC until he was 17yrs old

Then it was taken off him had a short assessment with a social worker who didn’t know him and then a assessment with CHC nurse.

Nothing had altered with his health except he was in more pain with hips.

Then receive a letter saying he’s no longer getting CHC

I asked the social worker to see if she could help to get this back for him.

She just said she not his social worker and she’s normally deal with CHC she just wrote report.

And it depends on what nurse you get if he gets it.

I’ve tried to get help from manager a resident all she’s said does he really need it he’s in here now

I said whe would have been given it in first place if he didn’t need it.

Has CP is registered blind has below the knee amputation is in a wheelchair peg fed double Incontinence . Has hip dysplasia.

Sounds tough! Some people recommend private social workers. Below is the only link I know about CHC. Being determined and making sure the evidence is clear can be needed. I think there are ways to appeal even if the SW is no use. Good luck, here's a link.

chc funding is all about health. Not where they are living. Can you ask for review.
