has anyone used one who they can recommend. My LA won’t fund a day placement as loved one is in a supported living service. My argument is once they finish college they would have to fund extra care hours anyway and I would prefer them to attend a day service. Any thoughts from anyone?

I am currently using Martin Searle Solicitors. So far, very knowledgeable.
Hi, I don't have a lawyer. Have you tried going through the council complaints procedure first as this would be free although it might take a few weeks? Stress how the day service can provide activities and social opportunities, routine etc which wouldn't be provided at the supported living. You may need to escalate through the complaints stages. The LA should be providing a certain level of activities under the Care Act so look up the Act and quote to them what they should be providing.
Have you provided a comparison of costs and opportunities? The LA that funds my brother also refused to pay for day centre when he moved to supported living until I made the case that it was cheaper to attend day centre than pay for additional hours of support by care provider.
Social services pay for my supported living and support hours as well as day centre 4 days a week but it is a NHS LD day centre and you need added support needs to attend there.
