I could never afford the full cost for learning disability/ differences assessment , I was also turned down for bursary, I have been looking for while but , you either have to be doing a Masters degree etc, or a child, or too old? My doctor laughed and said why do you want one at your age? 😱 Are there any other people, like me. Born in 80s , waiting for autism assessment. I’ve been on there for approximately 1.5 years now. But I feel we are like, the lost generation. Why would we not want to undertake ourselves better,

hi your doctor sounds really ignorant belittling you like that, he should have commended you for wanting to try and better yourself. Why don’t you contact the Mencap helpline and see if they can help or suggest something for you. Good luck and do let us know how you get on.
