Creating a trust for housing

I am thinking of purchasing a property for my niece who has learning difficulties to live in with her friend and with support agreed by a social care assessment. There is no suitable supported living accommodation where she lives.

I would want the property to be in trust and preferably administered by an independent organisation.

Does anyone have experience or advice a s to how to get information

Thank you

Hi, mencap run webinars to explain how trust provision works. I attended one last year and have found excellent solicitors who work closely with mencap and who have advised us and set up new wills and a trust. We are signing everything tomorrow. Such a relief!!! I’d thoroughly recommend going to the mencap site and booking on a webinar.

there was a thread about 4 months ago on My Safe Homes and other options. Also look up information on HOLD, although it’s fairly complex. Someone mentioned setting up a trust and approaching Mencap to manage the property. Good luck!
