Our son has a support package with daily support, but at Christmas we are always asked to accommodate him at our house because the care provider want to let staff have time off at Christmas, so most of the service users go to family. This is not a problem at the moment, but we are getting on in years and there will come a time when we are no longer able to offer this, and we have no other family. It makes me very sad to think that there will come a time when he is left alone at Christmas. Has anyone else been in this position or know of any alternative arrangements that can be put in place?

That sounds really nice, have a lovely Christmas
Yes that is the case at my son's accommodation, they do expect him to go home at Xmas but as you say there will come a time when we aren't able to do this which ìs very worrying.
