He would need to be seen by his GP who could refer him to a Paediatric Gastroenterologist. To get a diagnosis would involve an endoscopy and biopsy which is often done under a GA ( general anaesthetic) for kids or maybe sedation. However there is a blood test that can diagnose it I think
It is relatively new as my GP hadn’t heard of it it is called HDLA typing
sorry Vonus hadn’t quite put all the details it is HLA-DQ2/DQ8 typing. My GP’s surgery didn’t even know what blood request form or blood bottle to put it in and it was requested by the Paedatric Gastroenterologist at my local hospital
Are you able to pay privately? Might be a lot quicker to get seen the way the NHS is at the moment
