Sexual health advice

My 17 year old daughter has developmental delay and is functioning around 13. My concern is she seems to be very obsessed with the opposite sex and this is having a negative impact on her as she is unable to cope with her feelings.

I am also concerned that she is going out to the local park and is very vulnerable to others as she comes across as a normal 17 year old. I cant keep her locked up at home so any advice would be amazing.

Maybe have a word with her GP and express your concerns and see what he/she might suggest. I’ve not had that issue with my son but I think the GP will have some understanding. I’m not suggesting your daughter might become sexually active but if it were to happen she may need support in preventing pregnancy etc. It’s so scary so I understand your fears. Make appointment with GP first and go from there is what I would do.
