Modrete learning disability

I would speak to the school SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) about what support they are providing and whether to apply for an EHCP (Education Health Care Plan). Do you have a written diagnosis of your daughter's MLD from the paediatrician?
She has wrote it on a letter in one the report she has wrote out and the senco won't see me I asked for update were they were at with assessment and she say ask teacher and teacher says ask her lot back and forward she won't have a meeting I asked how long round about assessment were going take she say how long piece string
Hi, Our child (Year 2) struggles at academically at school (approx 2 years behind) and we are now going through the process of ECHP with the school.
We have not had any recent involvement with a Paediatrician (discharged 3 yeas ago) , so I would echo the advice below. You must get the school SENCO involved (ours has been great so far) , if they don't respond then escalate to the Head.
NB. I expect it to be a long process, but the sooner you start, the sooner you can get the targeted help and advice your child and you need.
You stated Learning Disability. so this may be very different from my experience, where I am observing Learning Difficulties in my child's behaviours.
But in case it is of help, I can share that these things have helped me, and may be of help to you:
- reading books from the library to understand these
- lowering my academic expectations of my child (ie. not getting stressed that she is behind her peers) but supporting her to improve form the level she is currently is
- seeking support from my local council's family Wellbeing Centres
