Moving to Ferndown in Dorset soon (near Bournemouth) and wondering what peoples experiences are of services there for young adults with leaning disabilities. Is there much socially? What about colleges? Supported living? Any info or insights are appreciated.

In Berkshire right now with lots socially and a bus to pick up/drop off, as well as a life skills college program.

The only thing I can think of suggesting is calling social services in that area the mencap helpline and the carers association and the local council in that area as they have people who organise things for people with learning disabilities often also the community voluntary services will also have lots of groups and organisations they will have knowledge of. I do hope that’s helpful good luck with your move and I hope all works out well for your family.

I think there are quite a few people on here who live in Dorset - I'll watch in interest, as we're moving there next year too :-).

I forgot = I do know about this great organisation (Umbrella Group). Well worth signing up to them. They have a wealth of info.
