Hi there. Sorry to hear your pain. Is there anyone who can help you ? Social worker?GP? Family? Local charity ? Do you have any support network ? Many of us have similar issues but we need to find people who can help us in the areas where we live. I hope you can find those people. They are out there.

Oh I know only too well being trying for help for over five years not even allowed basic human rights by local authorities failing to allow an independent investigation to proceed Been information there was no report yet this is an official investigation covered up clinical negligence failures duty of care ect family denied information request which they are legally allowed to be involved with we need action not just words because if this is going on with my friends what else is going on with regards health and social care in wales

Dear lcare50, I have suffered from trauma caused by something similar so may have some idea of how you are feeling. I felt very angry at the injustice and at the same time was powerless because of the failure of the authorities to act properly. I also suffered from fear and anxiety reactions to having anything to do with people who had mistreated me. My GP was helpful and supportive. A counsellor who understood about trauma was also helpful. Maybe your GP can refer you for support. It needs to be to someone who is trauma informed. I found myself thinking about what had happened all the time but it only made me feel worse so I decided to try and do things to take my mind off it. It was hard but gradually helped. Talking to someone who understood about trauma also really helped. It’s possible to get counselling on the NHS .

Hi Icare50,

I am so sorry for your situation. 5 years is a long time to be battling and it can take it's toll both physically and mentally.

The above are public law and human rights lawyers.

They also have a Social Justice Fund and state the following:

We’re pleased to be able to offer legal support and advice, at no cost to successful applicants, via our Education, Health and Care (EHC) Social Justice Fund.

Please, please, please contact them and explain your situation. They may be able to offer you free advice or better still help you at no cost if you apply to their Social Justice Fund and it is successful.

It's worth a phone call to them. If you don't try you'll never know!

Fingers crossed for your success.
