Hi my name is Lisa and my sister is in a Residential Home, and we are desperate to get her home for a visit and a change of scenery, She is desperate to come home as she has been there with only 1 visitor {mum} in over a year.

I understand as from the 21st they can have a home visit with out isolation being in place, the isolation is the reason we could not have Julie back at Christmas as see would see this as a punishment. If anybody has any ideas how i can get Julie back home for a weekend with my mum please let me know. They have had both jabs and will not be mixing with the rest of the family. Thank you.

The government published the updated guidance yesterday evening. If you go in the gov.uk website and search for visits out of care homes you will find it. All residents can now visit home subject to a risk assessment on the places they will be visiting. I would ask the home manager if your sister can come home and quote the updated guidance. We had an email from our sons home yesterday before the guidance was published telling us we could have overnight stays from next week. Good luck
