It's nearly Mothers Day

Sunday is Mother’s Day – a chance to say thank you to all the mums (and grandmas) out there.

Everyday I read your posts and hear about the amazing support many of you mums (and dads) give. You are awesome.

It has been a challenging year for many families, and many people won’t see their mums this weekend (or take them out for a lovely meal). We’d love to hear what you are doing to celebrate this year instead. If you have made special presents, it would be great to see photos of them.

For other people this can be an extra hard day to get through, particularly if your mum isn’t around anymore. Is there anything special you do remember your mum or grandma?

Remember, we have some bereavement support on our website here if that helps- mencap.org.uk/advice-and-su...

Best wishes

Sarah

ive bought a large two person 'celebration' traditional cream tea hamper with other bits and pieces for my mum and dad,as my dad said it was to expensive to buy for just my mum so he is seeing it as his fathers day present as well.

because im under an appointee i had to ask for money to be put on the top up card, which takes a while as my support staff have to fill out a req form, make excuses up for why i really need it and then i get the money-but i got it to late, there were no hampers on any site left for today, tomorrow, sunday or even monday-so its going to my mum and dads house on tuesday, i did email this to them to make sure she was ok with it before i ordered it.

its got all sorts of stuff in it,but the money seems to be going towards the hamper itself mainly,my mums having a good moan about that.

its from cornwall rather than devon,as the devon site had ran out of the one she wanted which had a large bottle of prossecco with it. :D

im dropping off a card at hers on sunday with my support staff.

For me yesterday was hard as it's the first year without my mum. I did have a good day though and I managed to distract myself. Like everyone else it was very low key. My kids made me a home-made card and had some flowers delivered. We went on a walk and bought some hot chocolate.
