Hi everyone.

I have central auditory processing disorder.

I can not process information given to me fast enough. I also have issues with multiple directions when given to me.

My biological mother had me in a bathroom in Korea and left me at a police station with my umbilical cord wrapped around my neck.

I was born a blue baby and had a lot of birth trauma.

School was extremely hard for me. I couldn't learn for crap so I acted out.

My parents and therapist wanted the schools to test me to see if I did have a learning disability but they didnt.

Finally the last school I went to they tested me.

And yeah.

I hate having this issue!!! I feel like a idiot and feel like I'm stupid.

Thank you for listening hugsss to everyone

Hi Cyh8513 and welcome. You write your story so well and that shows us all your definately not an idiot. I hated maths at school many years ago and felt stupid, I wasn't it just took a while to grasp it, I needed the time to process it. We all learn at different speeds . I learn easier from actually doing a task than reading from a book, you may be similar in your learning. Not everyone is a great academic, people skills are just as important, being kind, considerate and a genuine person is so important in life. Best wishes.

Hi!

I do learn easier from being shown what to do instead of telling me.

Ty for your kind words about me sharing my story.🤗

I'm Korean and my teachers (yes this is true)thought just because I'm Asian I'm automatically smart. Can you believe that crap!?

Thank you for sharing a bit about yourself as well.

I feel better! Hugsss

What a testimony you have to share and I am grateful for your story.

It seams that you have learned quite a bit through your struggles.

I too have a poor memory but my memory is like night and day from the time I was in high-school up to the past 10 years. I've learned some great strategies that have improved my memory by 70% which is saying a lot as I couldn't even remember the sentence I read 20 minutes ago.

I've always felt that I was just as smart if not smarter than the others but my lack of memory caused me to struggle big time and I've been learning that I share many of the characteristics of Auditory Processing Disorder, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia and some respects of Dyslexia.

You are very smart - don't let anyone ever put you down.

It wouldn't surprise me if your IQ was off the charts.

Hugs..

Hi

You're welcome. I like to let people know they are not alone.

Thank you for your compliments!!! That was very sweet of you.

I do have to write under my notes in my iPad or phone and practice before I make a phone call.

I get anxiety calling Dr's and people like that.

My handwriting stinks!

And if say a dr is giving me lots of information I tell them politely that I need to write this down and get my phone out. Or have them write down what they told me.

Have a good day!

Hugsss
