Hi Kirsty

I’m so sorry you are feeling this way, do you have any family near? Have you told them how you are feeling? I’m not anywhere near you so don’t know what’s available, do you have a social worker who could maybe point you in the right direction? Doing voluntary work if you’re able may be a way for you to meet other people and give you a reason to get out of the house.

Sending love and good luck.

Hi Kirstyb87 , I think Leeds Mencap are based near you - you can find out more about them on their website leedsmencap.org.uk/

You can also give our Learning Disability Helpline a call on 0808 808 1111 or email helpline@mencap.org.uk to get in touch with our advisers who can let you know about activities and groups in your area that you might be interested in.

As Inside mentioned, have you got any support from anywhere right now? Or family who live near you that you can talk to?

Hi Kirsty, I’m really sorry to hear that you're feeling down and struggling with your mental health. I’m not sure what would be available in your area specifically, but there may well be groups and activities nearby, which is a great place to start and make new connections. It is also never too late to reach out to old friends who maybe you haven’t seen in a while. I think you’re doing a great job posting this here too, because it really isn’t always easy to talk about your mental health. Wishing you the best and hope you find the connection you’re after :)
