Business advice for someone with learning difficulties.

Good morning

I have just signed in and its very interesting to read all the posts and to see all the daily struggles you all have and we can certainly relate to some of them. Mine is more for my son who is struggling to find paid employment so as his mum I am thinking of taking on some training myself and setting up a small business and to convert my garage.

Funds are tight but I am sure we can make this work but wondered if anyone else has undergone the same experience and its been a success? I'm not sure where to start and what help there is out there? I guess a business plan, budget and training will be my first step.

Any advice is greatly welcome no matter how small.

Hello

What a great idea! Unfortunately, I have absolutely no clue how to set about creating a business plan etc but I’m sure I have read others’ posts on here detailing their desire to set up small business to help their children. My next thought was to look at the GOV.UK website. They have a section on setting up your own business.

gov.uk/set-up-business

Good luck, do let us know how you get on.

Best wishes

Hello justcallmemum

Your local council or DWP may be able to help with setting up small business. Have a look at your local offer page (on your local council website) to see what they offer.

Best wishes

Perhaps you can try build online marketplace - cs-cart.com/marketplace-bui..., this is an online job and does not require programming skills, the profit comes from a commission on sales, it is not difficult and does not require large investments or constant involvement, however, in the age of online shopping it is very in demand.
