You're welcome Alice.

As one of our fellow HU members (Ian123) has pointed out, this fits in very well with this JohnTheJack post about why the publication of the PACE data is so important not just to the ME community but to science in general.

I don't know what people expected to happen by voting in a Tory Govt. If you sit at a table with a hungry lion would you be surprised if he ate you?

Why would you vote for a party that supports the elites and constantly takes from the poor - as Joseph de Maistre said "Every nation gets the government it deserves."

If they got away with it we'd have nothing!

I can't disagree with the point that the Tories seem to have no regard whatsoever for the sick and disabled.  And the sooner they are gone the better as far as I am concerned.

But actually Wessley and the psychobabble brigade have been employed by successive governments to manage this damaging ethos since 1998.

Don't get me wrong: Tory/Labour, Republican/Democrat, Fianna Fáil/Fine Gael - two sides of the one coin an illusion of choice. It's just that with the Tories there is little pretence at looking after the vulnerable in society.

I agree totally with that.  Not much to choose between them all is there?  But as you say the Tories have never made any pretence so anyone who voted for them knew exactly what they were getting (not guilty guv!).  Doesn't say much about the voters then either does it - not much that's good anyway.

People are easily manipulated especially through fear. The politicians have been using this successfully for decades, ("got to have a war on drugs they are evil", "Immigrants will take over", and the classic "the country will fail we aren't in power we the best suited to lead")

When we stop fearing their lies and using our votes wisely we will continue to suffer the same nonsense - if we keep doing the same thing we will continue to get the same results.
