Ahhh yessss, it's Friday again!!!

Another weekend, another batch of lovely HU racers!!!

Please grab your pom poms, tune up your voices, prepare to jump, to shake and to shout!!!

At the time of posting we know of a select group of VRBs heading for two start lines this Sunday, 20th October:

🥳 Our fabulous feline duo TailChaser and Katnap will be lining up to start the 2022/23 Tempo Winter Series, with the aim of completing all five runs in order to earn themselves a very special momento - enjoy the Larkstoke climb of race 1, cats🥰

🥳 Meanwhile the stupendous Sandie1961 and Shake-and-run have travelled a little further afield (despite Easyjet's attempts to scupper plans) to run the Venice Marathon 10k - how enviable is that? Billed as a 'non-competitive race' (an oxymoron surely?) this surely has to be up there with the most enviable of routes!

Oh I so wish we were joining Sandie and Shakes! Venice sounds so much nicer than soggy, hilly Warwickshire. I hope they have an absolutely wonderful time, it’s such a brilliant thing to do!

Thank you Linda. Off to get our bibs this afternoon (travel by vaporetta). Checked out the run - 4km across the bridge from the mainland, then along the edge of the Grand Canal with 14 bridges to run over. Soooo excited 😆 Good luck TailChaser and Katnap xx

Hello everyone 👋 so yes linda9389 today I start my NYC virtual marathon. With this one you can spread it over so many weeks which makes it a little easier. You can run it on the spot or physically it’s up to you and get a Strava badge at the end. Had an extended break after my London Marathon so this is a perfect way to start up again! 💖

Unfortunately I found that late last night that I need to run full marathon distance within the 2 week period and can’t breakdown the distance one to another.

I do have another plan of running 150 km in 28 days in December. This is around 93 miles which is exactly how many years my stepmum lived before she passed away last year with vascular dementia so would be quite poignant to do this in her memory instead!

Btw linda9389 , while the teacher in me agrees that a non-competitive race is an oxymoron, the runner definitely does not. That's why I prefer to say that I've taken part in two events, not races, as I was there to have fun and challenge myself, not compete. 😀😘
