What a fabulous week reading so many posts and achievements on here. I thought I’d join in having been well and truly inspired by so many. I knew it was coming and having a week off work I knew I had to give it a go. Set off on my new long run route and instead of walking home at the 10 mile mark I kept trotting not knowing if I’d keep it up but I did. Got to admit those extra KMs at the end are hard work and I’d scoffed all my haribo along the way. Had to dig deeper than I have dug before but managed to keep going. I had a nice 20 minute stroll home which helped too. So am super chuffed to have got there at last as I was out for many months injured last year and didn’t see my first Runniversary but as it’s 2 years this month since I started c25k for the first time it feels like this years runniversary is well and truly marked. Thank you all for the inspiration, top tips and support shared on the forum. Couldn’t have done it without you all.

Half Marathon all done ✅ Happy Runny WooHoo Day
That’s a huge long way to run
I know my legs kept telling me that too 😀
Ha ha but look at all those calories you burned
I know.... I am smiling knowing I have eaten cake and chocolate and I just don’t care 😂
That’s the gift the long run gives you, the ability to treat yourself knowing you are using it up, i can’t have much of a treat for my 316 calories but it’s loads better than none sat on the couch
Mmmm that’s at least a couple of kitkats or an entire tub of halo birthday cake ice cream ... not that I would know of course. Must say halo ice cream is my new thing.
Woohoo 🥳👏🏻🙌 Well done, what a fantastic run. Great way to finish a week’s holiday.
Wow!! Just wow! You did it...you just ran 13.1 miles 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 this is a real milestone run and a significant distance. You are so right here, those last few miles can be really tough but you did it and I'm absolutely thrilled for you. What a fantastic year and story you've had. I really hope you celebrate tonight and take pride in your journey. Your Half-Marathon badge will look great next to your name. So richly deserved and your comeback was definitely bigger than the set back.
By the way...YOU JUST RAN HM DISTANCE 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
A big congratulations to you Wimborne on running your first Half Marathon, remember and tell the administrators, then you will see the words Half Marathon next to your username, now go and celebrate your wonderful achievement. 😊 🏃🏾 🎓
Thank you Al .. I am super pleased and will definitely be smiling away all weekend. Hope you are well and running going ok too.
I am well and still running, I hope to run 12K next Wednesday and the following week my second 10 miles, like you if I am feeling that I could run a longer distance and perhaps continue for another 3 miles, that would be a HM, I will see how I feel on the day, I would aim for a HM time of around 2 hours 45 minutes.
Really good to hear Al your running is going well. Good luck for your second 10 miles.. I hope it’s a run where everything just comes together for you. 10 miles is a great distance and fingers crossed for you if on the day you decide to run on for a bit.... I always just do what feels right on the day and in that moment. Good luck 🤞
Woohoo indeed Wimborne! Absolutely awesome - and 10 minutes quicker than my last HM! Always knew you were a speedy one, and now you’re a distance one too. Fantastic! 🎉💥🏃♀️🥰❤️🥂😍💪
Thanks Cheeky those extra miles are very long ones 😊. I wasn’t sure about times so just took it steady all the way and it worked out ok...👍😄
Massive congratulations Wimborne on your first HM and what a great way to celebrate a runniversary.

Thank you KC.. hope all good with you. 😀
Whoop whoop Wimborne, that shiny HM badge looks So good against your name. I bet you didn’t think you’d do that when you were hobbling around on crutches. Happy 2nd Runniversary too.
So hoping our meet up still happens in October
🏃♀️👏👏👏
Fabulous work! Woohoo indeed! I bet the 20 minutes stroll at the end loosened everything up but I’m seriously impressed that you had the energy to do that after running 13 miles 💪🙂
Really well done.
Must admit IP it was the only way of getting home... I had planned it but will finish a tad closer on my next long run. Legs feeling ok but will see what the morning brings 😀. And thank you for my woohoo. I have started a new collection of them. 👍
