Many of you may have already seen this short film on the Dark Peak Fell Runners, but it was new to me and I thought it was just brilliant: vimeo.com/332023095 Would love to try something like this someday...

What a wonderful running club - and such a beautiful place to run! This is what the 'hard core' version of me in my dreams would love to do too (!) but sadly it is way out of my league!! Love the social side to it, especially the award ceremony and trophy for 'incompetence in the mountains' and Christmas carols and whiskey up on the fells...come to think of it I wouldn't keep up with the drinking either, these days! 😮😂 Thanks for sharing, Decker!😀

Yes the area looks just stunning and these people seem to really know how to enjoy life! I love the idea of hiding whiskey up in the fells. I would just never find it again if it was left up to me 😁

What an awesome video! Maybe I should start hiding booze up in my trails 🤔...I don't think that will help with my running though 😂. I love the comraderie they have. They look like they have a lot of fun running that beautiful terrain. How I would dream for a local running club like that. Although I have to say on my solo run on the weekend, there was a fast runner on the trail up ahead of me. There were several times I would look up in the hills above me and see him standing up at the top looking down. I'd like to think we was looking out for me, although he was looong gone by the time I finally got back to the parking lot. That had to be one of my hardest slowest hottest runs to date. But I finished it with a smile....at a walk 😅

Yeah the camaraderie is pretty special. I think the harsh conditions and constantly looking out for each other does influence the strength of team. They have a good laugh too. The “incompetence in the mountains” trophy is something I could easily win 🙂

Me, too! My sense of direction isn't great, but has been getting a little better....I think 😂

Maybe he was looking out for you. Many experienced runners look out for others I think

I'd like to think so. There is a trail race in Rossland that is very isolated with difficult access to the trails. If you stop for an injured runner and forego your race, you get an automatic entry into the next year's race (and it sells out within hours!). Trail running really is a great community.

That is pretty cool. At the Sulphur race, both times I fell, someone stopped to check on me and there was a guy who came in at the end with bloody legs and arms who had obviously fallen down one of the more serious spots and he got a huge round of applause .It is a tight community for sure.

They’re a bunch of serious runners though Their races and entry requirements are demanding and a bit frightening for us mere mortals. They have to be of course as it’s dangerous out there

It means joining a club and learning the craft. I’m sure many adventures would follow 😃👍🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

They do seem serious, yet pretty chill too. Kind of like the Ultra community here.

I would be scared of coming last in one of those races 😲

Haha yeah. Probably wise to bring a phone just in case. Not that you’d get service out there...

"he joined a search party that was looking for him" 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Great film, and it's nice to see the Dark Peak - I used to go up there fairly often when I was a young 'un. Have been extremely lost and extremely wet! Luckily on separate occasions 😊
