Shoe sales

Took advantage of the local sales and picked up an older pair of Saucony Kinvara 8s at 40% off. They are now the brightest things I own. Have wanted to try these for a long time now. Mrs Decker got a pair of 10s for even less! She walks a lot but she may have to start running with me now. These kicks were made to run!

Haha, now to find some matching shorts! 😁

I had the exact same colour Saucony Triumph, most comfortable shoes i’ve had so far. Enjoy!

I can only run in Saucs now. Tried so many but my feet are just used to them

Ooooh there’s lovely! Kinvara! My fave shoe ! The more unpopular the colour the cheaper the shoe, hence mine being Apple green 😝. They’re dead light Decker, perfect for race day. The uppers are very flimsy so get holed very quickly but I don’t let that out me off. Funny though how Nike can make the uppers light AND strong 🤔. Bah

I love Kinvara but they narrowed them too much ☹️ I bought the Version 8 and they were miles too tight. Version 5 was my fave🥰. I have one pair left which cost me £28, which I save for race day. I can’t get them now 😥🎻. They are ok on the trail too Decker. Nothing too technical though as they don’t have a rock plate

Apparently the version 10 has gone back to being wider in the toe but these are still full price. Boo 😁. I’m going to try them in ASAP - in the most unpopular colour 😁

Yes they feel very light and weighted differently like they are pushing you forward if that makes sense? Can’t wait to run in them tomorrow! After that I plan to just save these for dry long runs and races. My Hurricanes have close to 700k now but they still feel fine for training.

My Saucs feel like that too! It's nice, but unfortunately not for much further than 10 km 🤔

Decker profile image
DeckerUltramarathon in reply toroseabi

Really? I will keep that in mind. Maybe a shorter run for the first outing.

I've been thinking about this and I may have done the Saucs a disservice! Towards the end of my half marathon my ankles were really suffering, but it WAS very hilly road race, and although I try to run in the middle of the road as much as possible to avoid the effects of the camber - it isn't always possible to do this!

So, probably ignore my comment 😄

Yes I’ve found camber to play havoc on my ankles too! I am going out this morn in the new shoes and we’ll see what happens. (Was going to be yesterday but the craft beer festival was a bit too much fun on Friday and I felt dehydrated on Sat so decided to wait a day). Its fairly flat around here so that should help.

NEW SHOE KLAXON

I love it when other people get new shoes, I can bask in their glory without my bank account shouting at me 😊

Haha I don’t think I’ve ever paid full price for a pair of shoes for the same reason 😁

If not careful with colours you may end up wearing NBA tops. Oh...hang on....

🤣 its just a matter of time. Now I just need to find $$ for a Raptors top...checking the couch for spare change now...

Haha, I would never pay 200 bucks for a top. I wear jerseys from 20-30 years ago where you get one for less than a half tank of petrol. Ok, Larry Bird may cost a few quid more but he was part of my formative years when basketball ruled. ;)
