Are there any ok-tasting electrolyte drinks?

I don’t like flavoured fizzy drinks so any suggestions about which hydration tabs/sticks to try? Do you mix en route or beforehand? And are they all fiendishly expensive?

I love all the High5 flavours. Apparently Home Bargains has a runners pack on offer at the moment. Loads, I means LOADS of gels, energy bars, electrolyte tabs, water bottle all for £6.99!!!!

I'm a Tailwind fan. It isn't sickenly sweet, easy to digest/gentle on the tummy and the concentration can be tweaked based on how hard or long you're going to run. I like to mix the flavours and have gotten to mixing the berry with the lemon for a nice flavour. I buy the big bags, not the individual satchets but the individual satchels would be nice for mixing more up as needed mid run (that hasn't been necessary for me yet)

Tailwind cocktails! I’m also looking into coconut water as an option so it’s going to be an experimental few months.

I've heard of people using coconut water but haven't tried it myself. I'd be interested to hear what works for you.

6 teaspoons of sugar, half a traspoon of salt and add a couple of your favourite flavour fizzy vitamin tablets - to 1 litre of water. Simple. Let fizzyness fade to flat if u don't like fizzy...

I like the High 5 but don't use em often. Tailwind is fine but it's expensive so I only use it for special occasions. Tailwind is for long distances really as it's got calories to keep you going for a long run

I don't drink fizzy drinks either and I don't like sweet drinks so the above are fine

I actually only have High 5 electrolyte when it's given out at events 😄 And I hate their gels😄😄😄

And yes, Tailwind is not just an electrolyte drink.

High 5 citrus or berry. Other flavours not so good! SIS lemon.

I don’t like overly sweet drinks, so I’ve been using SIS Hydro Go tablets. You dissolve them in 500ml water and you can keep it made up for 24 hours. The berry flavour is my favourite, but there’s also a lemon one that tastes ok.

I normally don't need anything until HM, not even water unless it's warm out there. From there onwards l drink a small bottle of Tailwind (100g of powder mixed with 500ml of water) every 10km or so but during my marathon run l started drinking it from the first hour, approx 10km into the ordeal. Do experiment, though! We are all different!

.....oh. And l only use the one with no flavour. Other than that, my stomach rejected pretty much everything else. ;)

Thank you all! I’m experimenting to see if drinks stop me getting headaches on 10k+ runs, so fingers crossed.

These electrolytes aren’t fizzy. I forgot to add 🙂

Apparently this one is almost flavour free. I don’t think it will make us run sub 2 hour marathons though 🤣
