An online race equivalence and training calculator has been telling me that, as a result of my 15K run (1 hour 57 min using 30/30) ) a month or so ago , that I "should be able to do a 36:15 in a 5k now. I hadn't really been trying much at parkrun for a while now, preferring to practice "long and slow" - but I gave it a go today and managed 35:15 in the extreme heat - so I am happy with that. I have found these calculators to be quite accurate for me, certainly up to HM distance. But I have been suspicious about what they predict for my possible full marathon pace -- looks way too fast to me! - this website slate.com/…/running_calcula... is also dubious about the full marathon equivalence and it might be worth reading for anybody who may now be working with a calculator to guestimate their marathon time. Even with the modification recommended by this website my projected pace is still less than the cutoff 6 hours 20 mins so that gives me a bit of extra confidence at this point
