Just joined this community, and thought I'd say hi. Not really expecting to do a marathon but the pint sized half-marathon is slowly creeping across my horizons... any tips gratefully received

Yeah, do the training and you'll nail it. You need to be doing some cross training as well
It’s about putting miles on the legs.
Good luck 🙂👍🏃♂️
Welcome! A half marathon is quite an achievement, but definitely feasible. Keep an eye on your hydration.
Hi, and welcome!
Plot your longer runs with curiosity and excitement - have fun exploring your new routes and feel proud and strong as you run further than you've ever run before. Don't worry about having short breaks on long runs when you need to; take the opportunity to stop for a drink, and admire the view For short spells during the long run, and as you approach home, try increasing your speed temporarily, training yourself to finish your half marathon with a burst of power!
Fantastic, as others have said, plan it, do the training, allow yourself some slack and rest. But most importantly enjoy it all 😎
