Has anyone had better results using these, along with the shots?

Areds 2 gelcaps
Areds 2 results are in the internet. You can wade your way through the details of the trial which was done in the uSA. Some years ago. In a nut shell I can tell you that most people with wet AMD that took these did better than those that didn't. BUT ( and this is the BIG BUT ) ...about 13 percent did worse ! . Areds 2 have a huge amount of Zinc in them. For some people lots of Zinc reacts badly with their AMD and makes it worse. So statistically, yes Areds 2 is wise to take. But is you are one of those 13 percent then you'll be kicking yourself when you pick up your white stick! So what to do? As someone who has absolutely no medical training (!!) I would suggest you pop into BOots at your local High Street an buy the regular Macushield tablets. ( not the Macushield Gold - which have Zinc).
Dear UnicornMAP,
It is important that you discuss supplements with your GP, in case of any conflict with any existing medication or medical conditions. For instance, in terms of zinc, the primary concern is that it can potentially cause problems for individuals with gastro intestinal issues, particularly in levels of over 25mg.

Kind regards,
I'm taking AREDS2 to save my "good eye" which allows me to read and see pretty well. If this "good" eye goes "bad" like the wet one, then my life will become very difficult. I just close my good eye and I can tell how it will be to have two wet eyes. Also double the cost and double the injections.
I've had 8 Avastin injections so far, but my Ret Doc will start me on Eylea next time because my last photo showed a big hill or a "bump" as she called it and she said Eylea is better for "bumps."
So for me, it's all about saving my "good eye" which I've done for the past nine months with this eye vitamin, a daily eye diet, visor & sunglasses, tinted glasses for computer screen glare and maybe just plain luck.
