I'm afraid that the lupus specialists I know from around that area do not do private practices. What is the issue you are experiencing with your GP?

Hi paul my gp has tried solpadol tramadol dihydracodine and now neurontin in about 2 months non are working and i know he is trying to help but im exhausted i have no energy and realy struggling with the pain

Do you currently have a diagnosis of lupus? If so, which treatments are you on for that?

Gp diagnosed lupus but then dermatologist said lichen planus over 3 years ago now but i do think i have lupus due to hair loss butterfly rash dry mouth joint pain light sensitive ect. I am on methotrexate injections vit d and b12 low also. Got a numer of steriod creams which arnt working i have tried steriod tabs and injections also.

Have you been referred to a rheumatologist previously? Prof Bruce has a lupus clinic at Manchester Royal Infirmary. You could ask to be referred there for a second opinion?

I have never seen a rheumatologist but i have asked about it but did not get refered. I will try again and see what gp says this time dermatologist thinks i should see one but said a would get an appointment quicker if gp refered me ?

Yes, the referral should come from your GP really. It is definitely worth asking again - especially with all of the symptoms that you are experiencing.
