Mtx and sore throat

Hi. I've been on mtx for 4 weeks and all the literature says that if you develop a sore throat to see the dr straight away. I have a sore throat and general cold like symptoms since yesterday, nothing extreme just feel a bit yuck. Do i really need to see the dr?

This is early days for MTX and it does get some getting used to! MTX is an immunosuppressant which means you can pick up infections easily because MTX lowers your resistance and your immune system (which is over active in lupus).

If you have a temperature of 100 degrees F or more, go to your doctor. If you feel uncertain, go to your doctor and be reassured you are OK.

You MUST have regular blood tests - every month at first to make sure the MTX you are taking is OK for you.

My temp is always up and down daily, but yes i have had a blood test last week. I think i will wait before rushing to the gp. Thank you for your reply.
