Support groups

Good morning all

I wonder whether anyone knows of any support groups for lung cancer patients and/or their carers. I live in the Bromley, Kent area.

Thank you Emma. Unfortunately that group is a bit too far away, I was hoping to find one nearer to Bromley.

Hi Sandra,

If there isn't one at your local hospital you can always start one that's what we have done. I got together with the lung cancer specialist nurses and another 'patient' like myself and had a meeting to discuss what we wanted to the group to be about. Roy Castle will support you in setting up a group and Joanna came to our first discussion meeting. We are having our second meeting next week. We have planned sessions with speakers coming in to discuss different things each meeting. Things like nutrition, travel, the latest treatments and research, finances and benefits etc. It doesn't matter how small it starts it will grow once people get to hear about it.
