With all the coronavirus going on we were certain that mums scan would be delayed, however it went ahead as planned last week.
We’re awaiting the results, so we’re just going through that horrible time of anxiety. Mum had a great scan last time, a partial response so we’re hoping things have continued to get better. Then there’s the niggling doubts about whether treatment goes ahead due to the virus.
Looking at her hospital and what the trust have said, they are planning to proceed with treatments, possibly at different location away from the hospital. However, until that is confirmed it’s just another worry for us to deal with! I really hope that if mums treatment is delayed, then we can resume the treatment at a later time. If her scans show she responds then I’d hope a few weeks/month or so delay wouldn’t undo all the progress made!
Anyway, lots on uncertainty as I’m sure everyone is feeling. Can’t wait to give mum a big hug. Thankfully she’s really embraced FaceTime so it’s not so isolating.
Hope everyone is keeping well.
Take care x

Waiting for scan results is always an anxious time LewLew. Lets hope you don't have to wait to long for the treatment plan. Your mum is very fortunate to have your support. It's good that she has embraced FaceTime to keep in touch with you. One of the good things in life is a loving cuddle, you can send her a virtual one!

it can be a worrying time anyway but disruption to services by covid19 making it moreso. however it is a waste of emotional and physical energy to worry about things beyond our control so worth keeping your mum distracted/occupied with conversations of things beyond her illness as much as possible. Something we've done with family on FaceTime is to ask others to create something - a drawing, colouring, grow a plant, craft or similar and show us its progress. I know it's a little thing but it can put some 'purpose' in activity. glad you're able to engage via social media. I think there will be a lot of hugs going on when this is lifted... good luck to you and your mum
I think the lockdown has been easier for mum as everyone is limited to their movements to a certain extent. Makes it less obviously directed at her/others with underlying conditions! Thanks so much for the helpful advice. It’s so hard not to overthink and your right it wastes a lot of energy. Thankfully mum doesn’t use google and isn’t that techy (hence the amazement of getting her on FaceTime!) so she tends to just get on! Maybe I should take a leaf from her book! Thanks again, stay well x
