Husband fit 57 year old diagnosed with lung cance and meta to brain and liver on 25th Sep - awaiting treatment plan to start on 19th Nov 2018 - why does it take so long?

That does surprise me. My husband was diagnosed on a Thursday and had his first chemotherapy four days later.

I have been told that they need to map the brain tumour before starting anything with the lung.... all very difficult to take in.

Meant to say at that point he hadn't even had the brain scan. The scan showed brain secondaries so started brain radiotherapy the following week which delayed the second chemotherapy for a week.
