Sounds like an awful time. I would say it’s worth waiting for all your Dad’s test results to come back and see what the doctor says at your appointment. Then they should hopefully have a clearer view of what is happening for your dad. It’s worth writing down the questions that you and your dad want to ask before your appointment, so that you can remember what you want to find out. I usually make a note of the answers too as it’s easy to be overwhelmed by the appointment and not remember what has been said. Thinking of you tomorrow x

Dear Lozza1301,

The lung wash is only one of the many investigations your dad has had. As you will be seeing the oncologist tomorrow, rather than speculate, he/she will be able to advise you of his results following your dad's biopsy and scan.He/she will also advise you how his care will be managed. As Bow 19 states it is a good idea to write down any questions you may have. Once you have the results please don't hesitate to call the helpline if you need any further advice;Freephone 0800 358 7200.

Kind regards,

All the team at the RoyCastle Helpline

I'm pretty much in the same situation . On the 3rd of August I'm going for my biopsy and I don't know what to expect ,the doctor at the hospital told me after looking at the X-ray and CT-Scan that is a lung cancer ,but I have also some floating mass on my lung . I have malignant melanoma therefore my expectations are very low ...

Don't really know how to handle this , I have 4 children under the age of 17 .
