can anyone hep for holiday insurance my hubby has lunge cancer

I have had my cancer removed (in March) and need no further treatment and my travel insurance said they will not cover me for one year, another said I had to have had the 6 month xray and check up but no quotes given as to what it would be.

We used MIA travel insurance a couple of weeks ago and went to Vienna for a week, for both of us it was £150. We had to have the European Health card and also GP had to write in our medical records that we were both fit to travel and go on holiday. I would use them again the phone number is 0800 999 3333. My consultant had said to try swissassist this provides cover to fly you home with Swiss airlines if you need more than I think it's 3 days hospital treatment.

We got our travel insurance through my husbands HSBC premier bank account for free. It covered us for stents, depression and cholesterol included for no extra charge but they wouldn't. Cover me for the lung cancer. I wouldn't have gone though if I was unwell. I had tried my banks free insurance which is Nationwide and they would have covered us for the abov but charged £ 209. Which I didn't think was too bad but again hey wouldn't cover me for the lung cancer.

MIA insurance apparently are a good company for cancer patients. Eurotunnel insurance only ask if there is a "terminal" prognosis - in insurance terms that means a life expectancy of 12 months or less. Sorry to be blunt but insurance companies have to specify their terms.

I went to Spain with my wife, who has Stage IV NSCLC, in June, and we just got a letter confirming she was ok to travel from the doctors, standard travel insurance, the EHIC card, and I also took out SwissAssist cover for 20 euros for a week which would have got her repatriated had she needed more than a 3 day hospital stay.

I think if you have got all those you should cover most eventuallities, unless you're going outside Europe of course.

Hi I would lie.to as why since having lung cancer I. Can not get life insurance which. Think is so unfair
