For me it’s the amazing fresh foods coming out of my garden and the farm market. This week we had fresh picked bicolor corn and melons. The groans of pleasure coming from the dinner table told me I needn’t ask if everyone was ok with the meal.

That and being able to swim on a sunny day make this my happy time.

With the air quality alerts and heat advisories, I truly enjoy the central air conditioner in my apartment. Also, weather permitting, I enjoy being outside with friends, family or just for a walk. As far as fresh fruit is concerned, I have had the best nectarines and melons in a long time. There is much to enjoy this time of year.

I often swim at the university pool and a state park lake. I usually can swim at either through the end of September.
