Questions? Contact Lisa Tinsley, Associate Director, Philanthropy at raysofhope@go2foundation.org.

The Rays of Hope Award has been established to honor the late Richard Heimler, a past Lung Cancer Alliance board member and a voice for hope and research advocacy.

This year’s awardee will be charged with sharing their powerful voice beyond their current community. GO2 Foundation for Lung Cancer will send them to national platforms and speaking engagements, their story will be shared on GO2 Foundation’s website, and their story will be shared through a variety of GO2 Foundation’s other communications channels. The recipient will also be recorded on a video that will be featured on our website, social media platforms, and various other communications channels in order to expand the reach of their message. In addition to their expanded reach, the recipient will receive a physical award and will be recognized at our 2022 virtual Lung Cancer Voices Summit.

Award Criteria

Guidelines for award nominees include visibility to the general public in a variety of ways:

-Article placements or features in media outlets.

-Social media presence on platforms such as Facebook, blogs or Instagram, with a large base of followers.

-Public speaking engagements.

-Other demonstrated achievements in moving the lung cancer cause forward, such as establishment of lung cancer specific healthcare and support programs.
