Hi Denzie, it is has been a while since I posted on this site. I also missed two of my Go2 living room sessions including the July 16. After a good 6 months run on Tagrisso as my first line, my scan showed progression, biopsy on July 15 confirmed that my Non-Small Cell Adenocarcinoma has morphed into Small Cell Lung Cancer with the same EGFR mutation that I originally had. I am devastated. Just completed my first cycle of chemo with Carboplatin and Etopaside. I am so afraid the treatment options for SCLC specially the one that is morphed from Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer are so much limited. Most of these treatments are still from 30 or 40 years ago and more effective for the de Novo Small cell lung cancers that are linked to smoking. I really hope to come across more of the long term survivors with Small Cell who were originally diagnosed with Non-Small Cell.

So sorry to read about this new development. Have you looked into joining the EGFR Resisters on Facebook? There are some very smart people there who know more than many oncologists about this. Some of them are actually MDs who developed lung cancer.

Also consider reaching out to the new Addario/LCA alliances Phone Buddy program? They’ll try to find you someone who has experienced this same transformation.

It is always nice to hear back from you Denzie!. I am actually a member of EGFR Resisters group and a very few of us with this particular resistance ( Non-Small Cell Transformed to Small Cell) are there. Some of our EGFR NSCLC friends and Patients/Caregivers; Erin Sarauer, Trevor Nelson and Ann Anne Sofie Boldsen Salicath have helped form a new face book page for all of us with NSCLC that transformed to SCLC. It is very new and would like all patients and caregivers to join so we can share our experiences, treatment options and much more.

We welcome everyone to join the face group for those that have transformed from NSCLC to SCLC - NSCLC with SCLC Transformation.
