Please help this patient get the treatment he needs. His name is John W. English. He has lung cancer with SVC. His doctor ordered proton therapy because it’s safest. Florida Blue refused saying he should have IMRT. They authorized the IMRT mapping and it was performed. When they went to schedule the IMRT Florida Blue refused istating he had to have standard radiation because he’s stage 4. They already told him that the IMRT was the best choice.

Please write to the CEO of Florida Blue and demand that they give him the treatment they said he should have in the first place. The CEO’s name is Patrick J Geraghty. His email is

patrick.geraghty@floridablue.com

The patient is John W. English. His policy number is VMYH19258356 and his radiologist is Dr Justin Rineer.

Thank you.

I also shared your Facebook post --- !! And asked for everyone to share it...and HOPE it may help...! I hate that insurers can dictate our treatments, it is veyr upsetting.

Thank you both so very much!! It is horrible that they can dictate treatments. The external review denial stated they were upholding the denial because my dad is not “curative” with stage IV, therefore they won’t approve IMRT unless they deem it curative.

Emailed them, and shared your FB post
