Welcome to the FtB lung cancer board. This is such a tumultuous time in the life of the newly diagnosed. Although they have likely already tested your tumor for PDL-1 expression, call and make certain they are. The two most widely prescribed immunotherapy cancer drugs are Opdivo and Keytruda were approved for squamous cell before they were approved for adenocarcinoma. I send hope that this is the direction your treatment takes.

The ebus is actually a very cool procedure. If you are interested you can see animations or actual vids on YouTube. When is it scheduled?

Ebus is an ultrasound guided biopsy that uses a bronchoscope to visualize the cancer calls.

Robbins1a,

This is a tough time to go through, while all the tests are being run to sort out the best possible treatment. My main advice is to take deep breaths and be as patient as you can. When we get that diagnosis, we want to start treatment NOW, but we nearly always have time to learn as much as possible about our particular cancer so we can make the best choice. Lots of people here are ready and waiting to help as you learn more.
