Side effects of Opdivo?

Anyone have nausea/vomiting after and infusion of Opdivo? My father has had several treatments and the last two he seems to be having this reaction much like he did after chemo. Prior to this he had been doing well, appetite was getting better and little no nausea 🙁

With the intensity of the nausea increased it would be important to report this to the on call onc. There are still many things we don't know about side effects of opdivo so don't be afraid to call. Even at 3am if he's having a rough time. They have oncologist on call for a reason and they would rather hear from you when the issue is acute.

I was on Opdivo for 1 year and never had issues, but my oncologist always included anti-nausea medications prior to the infusion. I never had any issues. The same precaution was taken with the chemo drugs that were given to me for months prior to starting the Opdivo infusions. I am now back on chemo and still receive the anti-nausea drug prior to them starting the chemo infusion. Hopefully, they are doing the same with your father. Also, I guess all people are different and impacted differently.

Jessi, I completely agree with Denzie - your father (or his advocate) needs to report his symptoms as soon as he starts experiencing them, that is the only way they will know. I know that might seem uncomfortable, but it is so important. Please let us know how things are going, will be waiting to hear. Nausea is just nasty.
