I bought this book when it first came out. Despite having primary bilateral lymphoedema since birth, I still found it fascinating and so useful and informative. I would recommend it to anyone with lymphoedema.

It’s the only book i’ve read which really explains lymphoedema without being frightening.

I have bought it for relatives who have been diagnosed after breast cancer surgery and recommended it to others.

Julie, thats what i find so offputting..most things i read about lympho are frightening, depressing and discouraging! I will be so happy to read this book if it doesnt scare the living daylights out of me!

When I was first diagnosed I struggled with a lot of what I was told because it just didn't make sense and seemed to contradict modern understanding of how the body works. But I was in the middle of cancer treatment and put it on the back burner until it was finished.

When I finished the cancer treatment I saw a lymphoedema therapist privately and she was a lot more positive about the condition and what I could do. Then I went to see the team at the Lymphoedema clinic in Oxford, for the first time the advice I was given made sense and made me feel that living a normal life was possible even if I didn't have the LVA operation. It was worth paying the consultation fee just for that!
