Has anyone had a thermal bronschosopy?

Has anyone had a thermal bronschosopy? I've been on high doses of steroids for over two months and was hospitalized for a week to get IV steroids round the clock and my asthma still is not under control. My pulmonologist is recommending a thermal bronchopsy and I"m in the process of being evaluated. I have to have a CT scan of my chest and a pulmonary lung function test to determine if I'm a good candidate. Thanks

I was being considered for BT in early 2021. My Pulmonologist felt on one hand that it would benefit me, on the other hand the procedure would be to risky for me. He said that the procedure had never been studied on a patient as severe as myself. So I never had it done. It’s bittersweet. I wanted a silver bullet, but I also didn’t want to deal with the unknowns. Assuming we are talking about the same thing Bronchial Thermoplasty BT. The procedure is done in 3 out patient appointments.

@Thebird Hi Thanks for the reply. Yes we are talking about BT, done in 3 outpatient appointments. I still don't know whether I will be accepted. I hear it's risky and can trigger an attack and I might have to stay in the hospital overnight. I want a silver bullet too.

I’ve read a lot about it, also looking for the magic bullet. The results are not that great according to research that I have read. But if it’s a last option, I would consider it also.

I had it done. My symptoms have always been more tightness than wheezing/mucus. Most people struggle right after the procedures and it takes some time to recover and see the benefits. It definitely helped me.

If you're on Facebook there is a great BT group. I haven't had BT but I joined that group to learn about people's experiences. Just anecdotally it seems like 50% of people improve and 50% of people stay the same and don't see much of an improvement. If you join the group, there is a lot of info in comments in the archives.
